Indian Sandstone Cleaning

Great Outdoors Exterior Cleaning has been providing a ‘Pressure washing cleaning service’ since 2002. We provide an Indian Sandstone cleaning service to both domestic and commercial customers in Lincolnshire.
In recent years, Indian Sandstone has been used more widely in hard landscaping projects. This natural stone is available in an array of choices and looks fantastic once laid.
However, due to the porosity of the Indian sandstone and our climate, it does tend to ‘weather’ rather quickly and develop algae and black spot deposits.
Great Outdoors Exterior Cleaning has developed a safe and effective method to remove these unsightly marks from the Indian Sandstone returning the paving to its natural glory.
- Firstly we ‘lightly’ Pressure wash the Indian Sandstone – this removes the bulk of the green algae without damaging the Indian Sandstone
- We then apply an industrial chemical designed to remove algae and target the problem blackspots.
- Once the chemical has been allowed to dwell for a sufficient time, we re-wash the paving (if required we can also use an industrial vacuum to remove standing water away from lawns, etc.)
- Option to re-point paving
We also offer a patio re-pointing service. Traditional wet pointing tends to fail over time due to various elements, mainly the movement in the slabs and prevailing weather conditions. Over time small gaps start to appear, these then increase in size as the ‘sand and cement’ pointing breaks down.
We remove the failed wet pointing by using breakers, taking meticulous care with the Indian sandstone paving to not damage the paving edges. Once the old pointing is removed we use a resin-based system to re-point the paving. Resin-based systems look fantastic and last far longer than traditional pointing. Please note the industrial chemical we use is designed to remove ‘problem’ black spots from Indian sandstone; the DIY enthusiast should be aware the majority of patio cleaning chemicals available contain acids that can severely damage Indian sandstone!
