With over 20 years of roof cleaning experience and 10 years of roof coating experience, to date, we have cleaned over 1000 Domestic and Commercial roofs! 

Professional Roof Cleaning Process:-

• Cover and protect non-treatment roof areas with tarpaulins
• Block main guttering downpipes
• Pressure wash the roof using a fall restraint system for safety 
• During the cleaning process, the water is continuously pumped from the guttering using our Industrial vacuum
• Replace all missing, broken, or damaged tiles, and re-point / re-bed tiles if required
• Clean guttering, soffits, fascias, and conservatory (If present!)
• Unblock downpipes
• Apply Biocide/Fungicidal Wash to eliminate any remaining moss spores (invisible to the naked eye)
• Remove tarpaulins and waste, wash down hard surfaces
• Window cleaning using our portable ‘Reach and Wash’ system (utilises pure water)
• Option to re-colour tiles or protect using a clear coating. Roof coatings have a  life expectancy of more than 10 years.
• At the quotation stage, we can show you coating samples, explain the benefits and supply addresses of completed local projects
• Option to install Hedgehog Gutter Brush into guttering!
• Finally remove all waste from the site, as required by law we are Licensed Waste Carriers.

Our Method

With our extensive knowledge and experience, we will determine the best method to clean the roof.

If the roof is suitable we would use pressure washing. With this method, the results are instant without the use of chemicals, plus you have the option to coat and protect the roof. Pressure washing removes, lichen, algae fungi, dirt, and other pollutants from the roof tiles. As mentioned the transformation is instant and will reduce long-term maintenance and prolong the life of your roof. As part of this service, we repair broken tiles, clean guttering, upvc, windows etc. 

If the roof is not suitable for pressure washing we advise on using the chemical cleaning/softwashing method. With this method, we manually scrape the roof tiles to remove large moss deposits then treat the roof with a biocide/fungicidal wash to eliminate the remaining moss, lichen, and algae. With this method the results are not instant, it takes time for the biocide to work. Over time, the roof will gradually clean as you are relying on the weather to wash away the remaining pollutants. With this method, you can not apply a roof coating.

Access

It is not always practical to use articulated booms for access. This is due to the weight of the articulated booms and having to move them over soft landscaping, such as grass, and ornate patios which are not designed to take these heavy loads.
